Dr. Megan Kelly’s top tips for recovery and healing
Feed a balanced good quality food. As fresh as possible.
If your pet has had a operation, get exercise instructions from your vet.
Don’t let your pet lick or chew at the stitches. This can result in an infection.
Stitches normally stay in for 10-14 days. Your vet will remove them at the check-up appointment.
Remember if your pet is doing less exercise due to surgery, decrease the amount you are feeding so they do not put on weight. However, if they have a systemic illness, please consult your vet before changing the type and amount of food.
Consider a diet specific for your pets illness or ailment.
