Bertie was adopted from Knysna Animal Welfare (KAWS) seven months ago. He had been in their care for two months and because of his age – he is 9 years old – had been overlooked by potential parents. Our lucky day! Knysna is not known for thunderstorms and knowing nothing about Bertie’s background, we were concerned when after 3 days of hectic rain and thunder, Bertie’s teeth chattered, he shook, and tried to hide. In despair I remembered a bottle of Regal Stress and Anxiety Remedy I had been given. At 5am on the Thursday, I drew up 5ml into a syringe and shot it straight down his throat. In ½ hour, he was sleeping peacefully whilst the thunder grumbled on. We couldn’t believe the difference.

His time was nearly up, KAWS was inundated with dogs and cats, and as they can only take a specific number Bertie’s days were uncertain. Our lucky day!
We knew very little about his background, only that he speaks Afrikaans and English and is the best behaved little dog. He doesn’t bark (important in a retirement village) and just tries so hard to please. Knysna is not known for its thunderstorms and we were concerned when, after three days of thunder and lightning Bertie’s teeth chattered, he shook, and tried to hide. I remembered somebody had given me a bottle of Regal Stress and Anxiety Mixture, and in desperation at 5am I filled 5ml in a syringe and shot it down his throat. It was like magic, he settled down and in 1/2 hour was asleep peacefully whilst the thunder grumbled on.
We have had the odd storm since then and the mix has been has relieved him of a lot of his anxiety, and ours!
